Solar panel rebates

Victorian households may be eligible for a rebate of up to $1400* on the cost of a solar panel system. Available through Solar Victoria’s Solar Homes Program, interest-free loans to the same value are also available.

Solar battery rebates

Eligible households can get a discount of around 30%* on the upfront cost of a battery installation through the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. The discount is based on the battery’s usable capacity and is generally provided to households via solar and battery retailers in the form of small-scale technology certificates (STCs).

At the same time, discounts are available through the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program when upgrading a gas or electric hot water system. Discounts range from $560 to $910* depending on the old system being replaced and the product being installed.
