Protecting your privacy is important to Home Trades Hub Australia Pty Limited (ACN 643 191 673) (HTHA, us, we, our). This Notice explains how we collect, handle, and safeguard your personal information when you request an electrification report or request an inspection or quote for the installation of electric appliances (referred to in this notice as an ‘electrification service’). When you submit a request for electrification service, we collect personal information including your name, email address, mobile phone number, property address, types of home appliances and details of your gas and electricity consumption and bills.

We collect personal information from you for the purposes of:

  • Providing you with an electrification report;
  • Conducting an onsite inspection (if required) and preparing and supplying a quote for the installation of electric appliances;
  • Communicating with you about your quote and services related to your quote, including communicating with you using any contact details provided by you, including post, phone, email and SMS;
  • Disclosing information (including personal information) to third parties for the purpose of preparing a quote, completing an inspection of appliance(s), such as the tradesperson who will attend your residential property;
  • With your consent, using personal information collected to promote products and services to you; and
  • Obtaining feedback from you about your experience with our services;
  • Business analysis and quality assurance purposes, including generating customer insights and conducting research to improve our services and products.

We may also use and collect non-personal aggregate information, such as statistical and other anonymous information (including location information) for research purposes to help us enhance and improve our services and to develop current and future services and functionality; and for other purposes related to our business.

If you do not provide us with the information we need, or if you provide us with incorrect or incomplete information, then we may not be able to provide you with the electrification services or any inspections and quotes we share with you may not be suitable or appropriate for your circumstances.

We use a service provider, SpendWatt Pty Ltd, to prepare and send to you electrification reports which summarise available options and estimates of the potential costs of implementing the options and associated energy savings. SpendWatt Pty Ltd owns the proprietary software to prepare the quote.

When you submit a quote request your personal information will be disclosed to our trade service partners and tradespeople who will either attend your property or contact you by using any contact details provided by you, to complete an inspection and if you proceed with the quote, the installation of appliance(s) at your property. We have taken steps to ensure acceptable security arrangements are in place to protect your information.

We will also share your personal information with our parent company, Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Ltd, who, if you have given your consent, will use the information to send follow up marketing communications. RACV may also use this information for the purposes described in this notice. If you do not wish to receive any marketing material from RACV, you can withdraw your consent on 13 15 60 or by using the unsubscribe function if you have received marketing material electronically.

We may also disclose your personal information to law enforcement agencies, lawyers, advisers, auditors, and the agent of any of these, as may be necessary to manage our business activities and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We rely on software to run our business. This means that personal information may pass through or be stored in technology hubs or on servers located outside of Australia. Where this occurs, we retain effective control over your personal information.
